Michael Hardy in the community
As a small local business we recognise that we have a responsibility to try to put something back in to the community whenever we can. In many cases this has been sponsorship of the local school fete during the summer or at Christmas, in other cases our contribution has been more significant.  Hawthornes School in Woosehill has built itself a reputation for educational excellence in the area but like all Schools struggles with funding for some of its peripheral projects. Earlier this year Michael Hardy paid £3,000 towards the new music cabin being built in the school grounds. This is in addition to some £3,250 paid in previous years via Michael Hardy’s “pay back” scheme, every house we sold where a child attended Hawthornes the school received a cheque for £250. These contributions may be modest against a school’s budget but we like to think that the money helps the school and its staff in their efforts to educate the community’s children.

Below is a list of the schools and projects we have sponsored over the past few years;

  • Walter County School
  • Gorse Ride School
  • Hawthornes School
  • St Teresa’s School
  • California Football Club
  • Pinewood Football Club
  • Finchampstead School

Local Businesses support Wokingham Town Mobility

Wokingham Town Mobility has been providing mobility scooters on a delivery and collection basis for more than a decade .The service allows anyone with walking difficulties to access all the shops and services that Wokingham has to offer.

The scheme receives its core funding via a grant from Wokingham Town Council but also receives support from local businesses.

Michael Hardy Lettings have supported the scheme for a number of years by paying the electricity bill for Wokingham Town Mobility.

Charles Danton- Rees from Michael Hardy (pictured with Caroline Wilson) said "Luff Investments also support us by supplying the garage facility where the scooters are securely stored.

Wokingham Town Mobility currently opens three days a week. We would like to increase the opening hours and are trying to fundraise £6000 from local businesses and residents to enable us to do this."

Wokingham Town Mobility has recently joined the Local Giving.com website in order to publicise the work we do and to make it easy for supporters to donate.
