Shinfield is a village just south of Reading. It is popular with commuters as it is located less than 2 miles from Junction 11 of the M4 and is only 5 miles from Reading with its new high speed Cross Rail, due to open in 2019. The village has seen a lot of growth recently and has more housing planned for the next few years along with new shops, recreation areas and schools. The local primary schools are Shinfield Infant and Nursery, Shinfield St Marys CoE Junior and Whiteknights County Primary, all rated Good by Ofsted.
