Arborfield is a village in Berkshire about 4.5 miles south east of Reading and about 4 miles west of Wokingham. Originally a Military Garrison and home to one of the REME Museums, the village has been undergoing significant development since the closure of the army barracks and the relocation of the museum to Lyneham in 2015. In addition to the proposed 3,500 new homes that are being built, the plans for the new village include schools and sports pitches, a village centre with a supermarket and other shops, offices, restaurants and cafés. There will also be children’s play parks including a skate park and community gardens and new footpaths, cycle and bridleways. The plans include the building of 2 new primary schools and a secondary school. This impressive secondary school, run by the Bohunt Educational Trust, opened in 2016 and provides secondary education primarily for pupils living in the Arborfield and Finchampstead areas.
